Expanding Mental Health Access to Seniors: Extended Humana Contract

Medens Health is excited to announce a significant expansion in our partnership with Humana, a move that will further our commitment to making high quality mental health services more accessible to more people. This development marks a significant step forward, extending our Humana coverage from Nevada to include California as well.

Humana, renowned for its commitment to quality healthcare, is the exclusive provider of Medicare plans in California. This expansion empowers Medens Health to serve those with Medicare in California, allowing us to broaden the availability of mental health care to seniors across the state.

To help increase the availability of mental health providers to Medicare beneficiaries, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) and Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) will be added to the covered provider list under Medicare Part B beginning January 1, 2024. This expansion of providers who can provide services under Medicare Part B is authorized by the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, H.R. 2617 version dated Dec. 29, 2022.

Medens Health is thrilled to be part of this significant stride towards enhanced mental health care access. As we extend our partnership with Humana to California (effective October 1st, 2023), we look forward to making a greater impact on mental health care accessibility for seniors.

If you or your loved ones are Humana members residing in California, we invite you to learn more about our services and how to access them. Feel free to reach out to us at (310) 564-5400 or through our online contact form.
